The Galois Group meets in person early in the spring semester, before the Chapter and State MATHCOUNTS competitions. Meetings include MATHCOUNTS and AMC 8 contest prep, as well as other interesting math topics. Past Galois Group topics have included number theory, geometry, and combinatorics.
Who Is It For?
The Galois Group is open to all middle school students (grades 6–8), including students who will not be participating in the MATHCOUNTS or AMC 8 competitions.
When & Where
Meetings are held on Sunday afternoons, early in the spring semester, on the CU Boulder campus (usually in the Engineering Center). See the meeting schedule for specific dates, times, and locations.
Registration and Cost
New participants should first join our mailing list using the form above. All students attending in-person meetings must complete a signed waiver form before attending.
There is no registration fee for the Galois Group.
